Made Man - Evan Gilbert The cover photo is bizarre since nowhere in the story is this depicted as an inter-racial couple.

This story started slowly for me with a hefty and unwieldy chunk of telling as Eli literally narrates the story of his young love to his best friend. It was a nice series of events but I would have enjoyed it so much more if the author had gone shown us these events as they were happening without the extra layer of narration.

Once the story-telling of the past was over, I enjoyed the story a lot more, and was quite satisfied with how both characters developed as adults. Overall would give this story a solid 3.5 stars.
